Dear
Friends of Taw Meem Simkat,
We extend
our warmest wishes to you and your families and friends for a Very Merry
Christmas and
a Happy and Prosperous New Year. This time of year, we also ask
you to think about the many Syrian
Orthodox children in the Middle East who need our help.
Years of
violence and political and economic uncertainty have made it very
difficult for many parents in
that part of the world to properly care for and educate their children.
For a lot of them, the only chance at
a productive education is at one of the religious institutions which we
help to support. Children that are
orphaned often live at these schools and orphanages, receiving day to
day care as well. This early chance
to get an education makes a real difference in their lives, and they go
on to contribute to their communities
as adults. These institutions are always in need of donations.
We have been contributing toward this cause since 1899, thanks to your
help. We have developed close relationships with these schools and
orphanages, and our own TMS School in Beirut has been fully operational
for many years.
During this
past year, we sent contributions to the following;
~ Our own T.M.S. School in Burj Hamoud
~ St. Melke Orphanage in Turkey
~ St. Aphrem Orphanage at Al Atchaneh, Lebanon
~ St. Mark's Monastery and School in Jerusalem
~ St. Gabriel Monastery in Turkey
~ The
Orphanage in Homs, Syria
~ Syrian Orthodox Church School in Hassake
No part of your
donation ever goes to fundraisers, and no one in our Organization
receives payment for
their time or work. 100% of all donations are used to educate and
care for these children. Every donation makes a difference, and allows
us to do more and we ask you to be generous once again.
Please, we
would like more people to know about our organization and what we do.
We ask that you show this letter to someone you know who might want to
contribute, and give them the extra form and envelope. You can
write or e-mail to us anytime using a link from our website below.
Please send your donations to the Assyrian Orphanage & School
Association, using the enclosed forms and envelopes, and mail to
Arthur Asfar, 774 Norman Road, Ridgefield, NJ 07657.
