| Dear Friends of Taw Meem Simkat, | |||||||||||
| This Blessed Holiday Season, we extend to
you and your family and friends our warmest wishes for a Very Merry
Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. It is also the time of
year when we ask for donations to help the many poor and orphaned
Syrian Orthodox Christian Children in the Middle East.
Many years of terrible economic conditions and violence have made it very difficult for these children and their families. Parents cannot properly provide for them and pay for schooling because of the circumstances there, and in some of the worst cases, the children are orphaned. These children and their families often turn to one of the religious institutions that we help to support. At these schools and orphanages, they have a chance to get a real education in useful subjects, and many go on to become church and community leaders. Since 1899, our organization has been helping to support these schools and orphanages which educate and often house these needy children. We maintain a close relationship with these institutions, including our own TMS School in Beirut. This past year, we distributed funds to the following:
Remember, no part of your donation ever goes to fundraisers, and no one in our Organization is paid for their time or work. 100% of all donations are used to educate and house our Syrian Orthodox Children, and help their families. Please be generous, and remember that we ask for donations only once a year. We need more people to know about our Organization and the work we do. Please, we ask that you show this letter to someone you know who might be interested, and give them the extra envelope and form. You can write or e-mail to us anytime with questions or comments, using a link from our website below. Please send your donations to the Assyrian Orphanage & School Association, using the enclosed forms and envelopes, and mail to Arthur Asfar, 774 Norman Road, Ridgefield, NJ 07657.
